The National Flight Nurse Academy
at Case Western Reserve University held its second annual "summer camp"
at the University's Squire Valleevue Farm from August 9th through the
13th. Nurses from as far as Florida, Texas, Washington and Japan, as
well as advanced practice nurses, physicians, pilots, firefighters and
paramedics participated in this training expercise designed to prepare
teams to provide critical care in unstructured environments such as
those that follow natural and technologic disasters.
Collaborating with Case and the MetroHealth System to put on this
year's Summer Camp were the Auburn Volunteer Fire Department and the U.
S. Army's 256th Combat Support Hospital.
