Our 7th Annual Summer Camp was held on August 10-14, 2009. Sincere thanks to all our participants and volunteers for making it yet another success!
The National Flight Nurse Academy is supported by the FPB School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University, as part of the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Flight Nursing program.
The annual summer camp provides an opportunity for those within the graduate program to seek specialized training in caring for critically ill and injured patients in an unstructured environment. Also, the Annual Summer Camp serves as a continuing educational format for advance practice nurses, graduate nursing students, and flight and transport nurses to review and renew skills inherent to acute care and working in unstructured environments.
The Annual Summer camp is comprised of didactic lectures and surgical skill stations encompassing human simulation, natural environments, and real time air medical practice strategies. It will be held at two locations: Squire Valleevue Farm (Hunting Valley, Ohio) and the Mt. Sinai Simulation Center (Cleveland, Ohio).
Information and questions can be directed to summercamp@case.edu.
