Planning is underway for the third Annual Fall Conference (2006) on
Health Care Disaster Mangement will be a day-long course to introduce
the essentials of what healthcare providers need to know about providing
care in a disaster area.
The second Annual Fall Conference (2005) on An Exploration of
Diversity and Inclusion in Air Medical Services a day-long
course provided an introduction to the awareness, knowledge and skills
that provide the foundation of good team work and providing Culturally
and Linguistically Appropriate Care to patients and their families.
Thirty-seven nurses participated in the first Annual Fall Conference
(2004) on Emerging Infectious Agents and Bioterrorism,
a day-long course that provided insight into new and emerging viral
threats to humans. Topics discussed included: strategies useful in
identifying new and developing epidemics, selecting quarantine
procedures, and treating those exposed to weaponized pathogens. A
description of the federal response system was provided.
